More About MOMS Club®
The Purpose of MOMS Club
The purpose of M.O.M.S Club® (Moms Offering Moms Support) is to provide support to mothers who choose to stay at home to
raise their children; to provide a forum for topics of interest to women; to engage in activities that enrich the lives of children in the community; to perform at least one service project yearly benefiting
children. See the MOMS Club® International website for more about MOMS
Club's history, goals, and principles.
Is MOMS Club a religious or political organization?
No. We do currently hold our monthly meetings at a local church that has generously donated the use of their space to our group. However,
neither MOMS Club International nor our local chapter is affiliated with any religious denomination or political organization.
Who can join?
Any mom can join MOMS Club! However, almost all of our activities are held during the day on weekdays, so we are best suited for moms who are available to attend weekday activities.
Will I have to cancel my membership when my kids enter school?
No! We know you still need support as your kids grow. We support moms in every stage of motherhood.
Can I come check out your group before I have to join and pay my dues?
Absolutely!
Prospective moms and kids are invited to preview two public activities before deciding whether to join. We strongly encourage you to visit at least one of our monthly General Meetings so you can see what our entire calendar has to offer and how our club works.
Can I preview a playgroup?
Because playgroups often meet at members' homes, (not just public kid-friendly locations like parks and mall play areas) you must be an active MOMS Club member in good standing with a current Membership Information & Liability Release Form on file to preview a playgroup that is held in a member's home.
How can I get more involved?
We rely on our members for everything, so your participation will be very appreciated! Come to the monthly General Meetings. Host and activity at your home or at a
public venue. Tell a board member you would like to join or start a new committee. Form a new activity group (play group, reading group, stroller walking group, etc.). Consider volunteering as a club
coordinator or as a chapter officer on our executive board.
I have a business and I want to join your chapter and sell my product(s) to club members. Is this OK?
No. We do not allow our membership roster to be used by anyone for solicitations of any kind. We do not allow solicitation via telephone, email, or in person at playgroups or other club activities.
What are my membership dues used for?
The MOMS Club is a nonprofit organization. Our chapter is supported exclusively by our local members' annual membership dues. Our chapter does not
receive any funds from MOMS Club International. With the exception of a small annual registration fee that our chapter pays to MOMS Club International to keep the international organization operational, all
of our revenue is used to cover the costs of running our local chapter.
